One day: take the train from Venice to Conegliano or book a day tour. Two days: drive the Prosecco Road from Conegliano to Valdobbiadene and sleep in the hills. Three days: add the Cartizze walking loop, Follina's abbey and the hamlet of Rolle. Book every winery visit ahead.

1 day from Venice
Option A: a guided day tour. The easiest day. A minivan or train-plus-guide picks you up in Venice, visits one or two family wineries and usually includes lunch. Everyone can taste. Tours are listed below.
Option B: on your own by train.
- Morning: Regionale Veloce from Venezia Santa Lucia to Conegliano, about 50 minutes, €6.60 one way (details).
- Late morning: walk the old town of Conegliano: the Duomo with Cima da Conegliano’s 1493 altarpiece, the frescoed Contrada Granda, then up to the castle.
- Afternoon: one winery visit you booked ahead, within reach by taxi (Co.Ta.Co., +39 0438 410210) or a short tasting tour starting in the hills.
- Evening: direct trains back to Venice run until about 23:00.
2 days: the Prosecco Road
You need a car, an e-bike tour or a driver. The route follows the Consorzio’s Prosecco Road itinerary, east to west.
Day 1: Conegliano to the middle of the hills
- Morning in Conegliano: castle and old town.
- Drive through San Pietro di Feletto to Refrontolo and the Molinetto della Croda, a 17th-century water mill. It opens mainly on Fridays, weekends and holidays, so plan the day around it.
- A booked tasting near Solighetto or Farra di Soligo.
Day 2: Col San Martino to Valdobbiadene
- Col San Martino and the church of San Vigilio on the ridge.
- Cartizze: lunch and a tasting on the 107-hectare hill.
- Afternoon in Valdobbiadene. Sleep here or drive back: Valdobbiadene to Venice is about 1 hour 7 minutes by the A27.
The direct drive from Conegliano to Valdobbiadene is only 33 km (about 44 minutes), so two days leave time for long lunches. Only passengers taste: the driver skips it.
3 days: hills, walks and abbeys
Do the 2-day plan, then add a third day from a base near Valdobbiadene:
- Morning: walk the Anello del Prosecco, a signed loop of about 10 km around the Cartizze hill. The Consorzio recommends it from March to October (route).
- Afternoon: drive north-east to Follina for the Cistercian abbey and its cloister dated 1268 (about an hour), then on to Cison di Valmarino and the vineyard hamlet of Rolle.
- Alternative: head south-west instead to the hill town of Asolo.

Frequently asked questions
How many days do you need in the Prosecco hills?
One day shows you the hills and two wineries, on a tour or with the train to Conegliano. Two days let you drive the whole Prosecco Road without rushing. Three days add walking, the abbey at Follina and quieter villages.
Can you do the Prosecco hills without a car?
For one day, yes: take a guided tour from Venice, or the train to Conegliano (about 50 minutes, €6.60) and one booked winery nearby. For two or three days, a car, an e-bike tour or a hired driver is the practical choice, because buses link the towns but not the wineries.
Where should you sleep on a 2-day Prosecco trip?
In or near Valdobbiadene if you have a car, so you wake up next to Cartizze. In Conegliano if you're travelling by train. See where to stay.
